Club Events

The special interests of various groups are reflected in the traditional gentlemanly pursuits of chess, billiards and an active golfing society. The Club’s box at Ascot is available for members by arrangement through the Secretary’s office. For major rugby matches at Twickenham, the Club arranges coaches well stocked with food and wine. The company is also guaranteed to be excellent.

Members use the Club Library as a valuable reference source or to browse through the extensive collection of books on subjects ranging from modern literature to sport, military history and, of course, the East India Company.

The East India is as it ever was, a gentleman’s club. The present day requirements of its members are reflected in its operation, but not its essence. It is a Club whose existence is rooted in the needs of those members and is run by the members for their greater collective enjoyment.
